Mike Roger
Herman Glöckner
Profile of the performer Mike Roger:
German Rock 'n Roll & Slop Singer and band leader
Mike Roger aka Herman Glöckner was born March 22, 1930 in Heroldsberg, Germany and died April 12, 1984.
In his youth he had to entertain the guests in his parents restaurant by playing the piano. In 1953, he founded his first band "Circle 4 Ranch Boys", playing mainly for US-G.I. soldiers. He learned about rock 'n roll in the late fifties and started a career with his backing band "The Machine-Guns" on a friends label. The first song "Let's slop" got into charts and allowed Mike to record more records and to finally have a guest residence in a New Yorkian club with his personal hero Fats Domino. After the slop era, his star went down and he got forgotten till his death in 1984. He was definitly one of Germany's first rock 'n roll musicians that still misses acknowledgment (same counts for Paul Würges).
