Profile of the performer Manuel Gerena: Spanish flamenco 'cantaor'. Born in Puebla de Cazalla in 1945, he started his singing career in 1968. He met Rafael Alberti and Paco Ibañez, following a flamenco-canción protesta wave. He got a big success with records as ‘Cantando a la Libertad’ (1976).
