Planet Scanners, The
Profile of the performer Planet Scanners, The: The Planet Scanners were born out of Chris Conway's desire to create a live improvising group. Named after his solo "Scanning Planet 3", they strike a unique balance between out-there spaciness and hybrids of jazz and folk musics. The feel is sometimes like that of "Adventure" era Brainticket (think Oregon or Codona territory sans the jazz and lots of cosmic ooze), with many of those unique Rain Garden touches.
